Apple today introduced Apple HomeView, designed to be central to the home and provide a personal experience for every household member. Apple HomeView is powered by Apple Intelligence with Siri AI and is built with privacy and security at its core.
Design, Display, and Availability
Apple HomeView features a beautiful aluminum design with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display. The display connects to a domed speaker base through a stainless steel hinge, allowing you to tilt it easily for comfortable viewing on tables of different heights. You can place it on a kitchen counter, nightstand, side table, or another tabletop in your home.
Apple HomeView comes in four colors: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. Each color comes with a matching cable.
Its brightness automatically adjusts from 500 nits to just 0.3 nits, making it suitable for bright rooms and bedside use at night. The HomeView interface also adjusts automatically based on the user’s distance. It shows simpler information when viewed from across the room and more detail as the user moves closer.
HomeView comes in two models: a tabletop version with a stand and a wall-mounted version. The wall-mounted model is available in space gray and silver and offers the same 7-inch Liquid Retina display and features, with audio tuned for wall placement. Both models have the same price, although the wall-mounted version requires a separately purchased mount and does not include the tabletop model’s woofer.
Siri AI and Personalized Experiences
HomeView can recognize up to six people and provide a personal experience for each one. Every user gets their own personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets.
HomeView features Siri AI, a new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and advanced Apple silicon. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can do more for each person. It can take action across apps and use the user’s personal context to bring up relevant information from Messages, Calendar, Apple Music playlists, and more.
Audio, Communication, and Everyday Help
Two custom full-range drivers in the display deliver clear, crisp sound and room-filling Spatial Audio. The tabletop model’s base includes a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators that provide deep bass.
With Intercom, HomeView lets users broadcast a message to a single room or the whole house. These messages can reach other HomeView and HomePod speakers, as well as personal devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Users can also read and reply to Messages by voice or with the onscreen keyboard.
In the kitchen, HomeView can act as a cooking assistant. It can turn recipes from the web into step-by-step instructions, provide hands-free timer control, and help users keep track of ingredients so they can focus on cooking.
With Find My, users can view the locations of loved ones who have shared their locations with them. They can also find a misplaced iPhone, AirPods charging case, or personal item with an AirTag attached.
Smart Home Controls
HomeView lets users securely control compatible smart home accessories through touch or voice commands using Siri AI. They can view camera feeds, adjust thermostats and lights, lock doors, close blinds, and control other supported accessories. The Home Modular face provides quick access to favorite accessories, while the Home Camera face can show up to nine live camera feeds at once.
Pre-orders begin today, with availability starting November 13.
